Brand van Zyl, owner and Director of the firm has 16 years of experience in both the public and private sector.  He holds a Master's degree in Town and Regional Planning as well as Environmental Management, and as a result specializes in town planning, regional planning and environmental planning and management.  He has worked at junior level for National Government and senior level within the private sector since 1999.  He also has six years’ experience teaching within the Department Land Management (Polytechnic of Namibia), personally responsible for the development of both the Diploma and Bachelor Degrees of Town and Regional Planning.

He is a nationally certified professional planner (Namibian Council for Town and Regional Planners) and worked on a variety of planning and development projects of all sizes throughout Namibia. As one of the most experienced professional environmental assessment practitioners in Namibia, he has been extensively involved in the coordination and sourcing of environmental clearance for a variety of environmental projects in Namibia. During 2012 he qualified as an accredit technician to install and service the Clarus Fusion wastewater series by Clarus Environmental. He is currently furthering his professional career in Green Building Advising. He is well familiar with Namibia's legislative requirements as set by the Townships and Division of Land Ordinance (No. 11 of 1963), Town Planning Ordinance (No. 18 of 1954), Environmental Management Act (No. 7 of 2007), Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations (GN. 30 of 2012), Water Act (No. ), Water Resources Management Act (No. 11 of 2013) and Local Authority level Policies & Regulations.

 

Sheldon Husselmann is the holder of a BSc (2010), BSc Honours (2011) and MSc (2016) Environmental
and Geographical Science from the University of Cape Town.

During his 5 years with Enviro Dynamics and GCS Water Environmental Engineering, he has gained valuable experience in conducting environmental impact assessment, both in team set-up as well as individual team leader. He has been extensively involved in the coordination and sourcing of environmental clearance for a variety of environmental projects in Namibia. He is well familiar with the legislative requirements as set by the Townships and Division of Land Ordinance (No. 11 of 1963), Town Planning Ordinance (No. 18 of 1954), Environmental Management Act (No. 7 of 2007), Namibia’s Environmental Assessment Policy (1995) and Local Authority level Policies.

 

Julia Bashir joined Urban Green cc in July of 2015 as part of Urban Green cc empowerment programme. Julia has a Grade 10 qualification and has since joining Urban Green cc been involved an all environmental projects.

Julia was discovered as a very strong leader and ambitious person during an environmental project conducted by Urban Green cc at the Mix Informal Settlement situated in the Brakwater area of the City of Windhoek.

She has a keen interest in the environmental and social fields and has accordingly enrolled with NAMCOLL, with the aim to enhance her computer skills and obtain her Grade 12 qualification in 2018, after which she will be
furthering her studies in the environmental field.
